Man charged after fatal shooting at Shelby County gas station

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A man is dead and another man is in custody after a fatal shooting at a gas station on Saturday night, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office confirmed.
At approximately 10 p.m., SCSO detectives began investigating a shooting at the 5300 block of U.S. Highway 51, just south of Fite Road in Shelby County.
A man was taken to Regional One in critical condition where he was later pronounced deceased.
Sunday night, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office announced that 39-year-old Anthony Nelson had been arrested and charged with the shooting.

According to SCSO, Nelson was taken into custody after Hardin County deputies and Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers executed a search warrant at a home on Dorothy Ann Lane in Saltillo, Tennessee.
The sheriff's office says Nelson has been charged with second-degree murder. He is currently being held in the Hardin County Jail and will be transferred to the Shelby County Jail, SCSO says.
