MINOT, ND (KXNET) — A traffic stop Saturday evening in Minot led to an arrest after the driver fled officers and crashed into another car.
According to the Minot Police Department, on January 11 at about 6:24 p.m., officers tried to stop a Lexus LS in the 1800 block of South Broadway. When the officers initiated the stop, the driver, a 30-year-old man from Minot, fled north at about 60-65 mph. Officers decided not to follow due to road conditions.
Shortly after, the Lexus collided with a Ford Escape in the 200 block of 11th Avenue SW. The Escape sustained damage, but no injuries were reported to the two people inside.
The Lexus fled the crash west, and officers relocated it and started to pursue. The chase lasted for about 3.4 miles, traversing many streets before the car got stuck in a snowbank near 7th Street NE and Bavaria Drive.
