A woman was killed and two men were injured Saturday night in a string of stabbings along 16th Street Mall in Denver’s Central Business District. All three stabbings happened on 16th Street between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, the Denver Police Department said in a news release. Officers first responded to a stabbing in the 700 block of 16th Street, near California Street, around 5:20 p.m., police said in the news release. Police said paramedics took an unidentified woman to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Two other nonfatal stabbings are under investigation: one that happened near 16th Street and Lawrence Street around 5:56 p.m. and one that happened near 16th Street and Tremont Street around 6:20 p.m., police said. Paramedics took two men to the hospital with minor injuries — one from each stabbing. No suspects have been identified or arrested Sunday, but Denver investigators released an image of a man they believe is connected to all three stabbings. The man in the photo is white and wearing all black, including a hat and glasses. “It appears at this stage of the investigation that there was no connection between the suspect and victims, and the motive is unclear at this time,” police said in the news release. Investigators are searching for photo and video evidence from cameras in the area and are asking any businesses in the area to check their surveillance systems for images of the suspect. Additional officers are stationed along 16th Street on Sunday for additional security, police said. Anyone with information about the suspect or stabbings is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. This is a developing story and may be updated.
