A sharp blast of Arctic air to start the week
Jan 12, 2025
What We’re Tracking
Sharply colder air moving in
Warming up as the week progresses
Another blast of cold next weekend
A blast of cold air is moving into the region tonight with temperatures falling into the lower single digits above zero and wind chill to single digits below zero by morning. If the wind dies down sufficiently, there could be some patchy areas of fog to start out Monday, otherwise clear for tonight.
This blast of cold air to start the week will not last too long. Highs in the 20s for Monday and Tuesday before quickly rebounding into the upper 30s Wednesday and then topping out in the 40s by Thursday.
Another blast of cold air is on the way for next weekend. We'll watch the frontal boundary as it drops into the area on Saturday. Right now, a few snow showers will be possible along that front. After the front moves in, some very cold air arrives for Sunday.
