ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico State Police (NMSP) arrested a man they say was in possession of two guns, despite being a convicted felon. On Friday, NMSP found a vehicle and the registered owner had an arrest warrant for receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle. 1 dead after police shooting in Hobbs Agents followed the man to the Michaels craft store near Montgomery and Wyoming, identifying the man as 36-year-old Steven Stewart. NMSP says when Stewart exited the store, he ignored officers' commands and tried to flee the scene. State police say Stewart was quickly caught by officers and they found two guns inside the vehicle. NMSP says they are working with federal law enforcement for prosecution because Stewart is a convicted felon.
