KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs now know their opponent for the Divisional Round after the Buffalo Bills defeated the Denver Broncos in the Wild Card on Sunday. The Chiefs will play the fourth-seed Houston Texans, who secured a 32-12 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chiefs won that game 27-19 at home. The last time both teams faced each other in the postseason was in 2020, in a game where the Chiefs erased a 24-0 lead by halftime. The Chiefs went on to win the Super Bowl that year against the San Francisco 49ers. The Chiefs are coming off a bye week in the postseason for the fifth time in seven seasons. Andy Reid has an excellent track record coming off of bye weeks in the postseason as the Chiefs are 4-0 since Patrick Mahomes became the starter in 2018. The Chiefs have also accumulated an adequate amount of rest as many of the starters haven't played since Christmas against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
