KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- When the weather has us hunkered down at home for long periods of time, it's inevitable that we are going to start dreaming up crazy ideas to make our home even sweeter. On Sunday morning, the KC Remodel and Garden Show made all those dreams a reality. 250 metro-wide eateries return for Kansas City Restaurant Week From beautiful, fully-landscaped pools complete with color-changing fountains to outdoor kitchens with every possible amenity to a complete bathroom remodel with remote-controlled LED lighting so you can feel like you're getting ready in a high-end spa. The possibilities are truly endless. You can even... rent chickens? You read that correctly. Yes. Chickens. Whether you live in the in a remote part of the KC metro or in the middle of the city, if you have ever dreamed of having farm fresh eggs, "Homestead Nina" can hook you up. Homestead Nina runs "Rent The Chicken" -- an organization that offers mobile chicken coop and rental chicken services, guaranteeing customers fresh eggs for their morning breakfasts. "People rent chickens for lots of different reasons. Mostly it's because they want farm fresh eggs for their families," Natalina Ehlers of Rent the Chicken said. "The eggs in the supermarket are getting very expensive and you don't know what's in them. All of our chickens are fed non-gmo feed and what goes into your chicken comes out in your eggs. You get healthy farm fresh eggs for your family." Most chickens only lay when the weather is warm, so "Rent The Chicken" brings their coops in the spring and picks them up in the fall. If you choose to keep your chickens, you absolutely can. But if not, "No harm no fowl." Healthy diets, workouts, lifestyle changes to adopt in the new year And if you want to take it a step further, you can rent a some chicken eggs, put them in an incubator and hatch baby chicks. They'll pick them up about two weeks after they hatch and possibly bring them back to you when they are laying eggs. The 2025 standard rental package is $540. Here's everything it includes: Rentals available: April - October or May - November Delivery, setup, and pick-up of the contents 2 Rent The Chicken Egg-Laying Hens 8-14 eggs per week 1 Standard Chicken Coop that can be easily moved  1 Food dish 1 Water dish 100 pounds of non-GMO Chicken Feed Quick guide for taking care of your Rent The Chickens A copy of "Fresh Eggs Daily" by Lisa Steele There are other upgraded packages that you can purchase, as well.
