How to track the 69th Legislature online
Jan 12, 2025
BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — It appears the 69th Legislative Assembly will be a memorable one for the legislation that is being proposed, including significant changes to the property tax system.
What lawmakers will do during the next three months will affect your pocketbook for years to come, so you'll want to keep up with what's happening and offer your input.
Here's how: The North Dakota Legislative Council website (https://ndlegis.gov/legislative-council).
This is where you can get information on every bill, every lawmaker, every committee meeting, and every vote.
You can watch hearings live as they happen or view video recordings at a later time. You can track down the status of a bill from its introduction to modifications to votes and passage or failure.

You can see who's sponsoring legislation you have an interest in and contact a lawmaker.
Using the "Calendar" and "Video" tabs, you can easily see what's happening today or later and at what time. The "Video" link is, essentially, a scrollable list of current and upcoming hearings that you can watch or, later, review.
And the "Library and Research" section is a treasure trove of all things legislature: History, how things work, processes, and other minutia that can make you a legislative scholar.
Whatever you need, you'll find it at the Legislative Council website.
One note: For many of the functions, you need to create a free login account — you can start that process here.
