Enjoy a refreshing mix of sun and clouds, with highs nearing 40 degrees this Sunday and Monday. Meanwhile, a low-pressure system to the west will deliver snow to the upper Midwest and the Great Lakes. Behind the system highlights what's to come for our area with another burst of cold Arctic air behind the system. Expect the upcoming frontal boundary to be primarily dry, but brace yourself for a temperature plunge as cold air returns. On Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, wind chills could drop to single digits or potentially below zero. Strong winds will sweep through on both days, with highs only reaching the 20s and 30s. However, there is good news by the end of the week! Temperatures are anticipated to rebound, with highs projected in the mid to upper 30s on Thursday and into the 40s on Friday. As we approach the weekend, though, keep your umbrella handy as the weather pattern shifts, bringing a chance of rain or snow. The models are still fluctuating regarding the predicted amount and type of precipitation, so stay informed throughout the week to prepare for whatever comes our way! Here's the 7-day weather forecast: Sunday: Enjoy a mostly sunny day with comfortable highs in the mid to upper 30s and some seeing 40s! Monday: Keep your spirits high. Partially cloudy skies will prevail, and temperatures will be close to average, reaching the low to mid-40s. Tuesday: Brace yourself for a significant temperature dip. With highs only in the 30s, morning lows will slide into the 20s and teens. Be prepared for brisk conditions and wind chills that could drop into the teens and single digits. Wednesday: Another day to bundle up! Expect cold and windy weather with highs only in the 20s and 30s. Morning lows will start in the teens, and wind chill values might plummet to below zero, so dress warmly! Thursday: With partly sunny skies and highs rising to the mid-30s, things will improve. Friday: A pleasant day is ahead with partly cloudy weather and highs nearing 40. Saturday: Finally, we'll see some exciting weather with partly sunny skies and a chance of rain or snow. Highs will be in the low to mid-40s, so stay tuned! Make the most of your week! Meteorologist Derek Bowen
