ORANGE, Mass. (WWLP) - A plane experiencing landing gear issues made an emergency landing at the Orange Airport on Sunday morning. Police looking to identify suspect in Russell Package Store break-in Orange Emergency Services said that at approximately 9:34 a.m. at the Shelburne Control Dispatch Center, operators received a call from Fitchburg Airport. The report stated that an incoming plane from the Fitchburg Airport was having problems with its landing gear and would be landing in Orange. The Orange Fire Department, Police Department, and EMS provided full support to prepare for the arrival of the aircraft. Orange Airport Personnel provided real-time updates so that units could prepare for the plane to come in. The plane made an emergency landing on the grass, skidding to a stop without crashing. It experienced some damage upon landing, but there were no injuries or fuel leaks. All units were cleared quickly after the plane landed.
