North Attleboro Fire Department extinguishes multiple overnight car fires

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — The North Attleboro Fire Department said it extinguished two overnight fires that were started by cars.
At 12:30 a.m. the department responded to John C. Porter Way to find a two-car garage heavily involved by a fire that originated from two electric vehicles.
The fire spread to the home, and the garage and cars were deemed total losses, while the home was uninhabitable.
One occupant was treated for smoke inhalation but was not transported to the hospital.
Firefighters then responded to a minivan fire at the YMCA building on Elmwood Street at 6 a.m.
The car was deemed a total loss, while smoke caused some discoloration to the YMCA building but no damage.
There were no injuries.
