GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Greensboro Police are investigating the city's sixth homicide of the year. According to a press release, at around 6:09 p.m. Saturday, the Greensboro Police Department responded to a single-vehicle crash in the area of North Elm Street and Sommerton Drive. Upon arrival, they found the driver had been shot. The driver, El Tahir Abdo Yahia Haroun, 50, of Greensboro, was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries. The North Elm Street area was closed for several hours Saturday night due to the investigation. An investigation is ongoing.
