GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Over the last 24 hours, dangerous road conditions caused by the winter storm have forced drivers to abandon their vehicles on the side of the road.
Local tow truck companies spent the day moving them.
Rescuing stranded drivers as snow continued to pile up.

Friday night's snowstorm led to a busy shift for Spotlight Towing crews.
Operations Manager, Charlie Fine, says he was on the road from 5 p.m. Friday night until about 2 a.m. Saturday morning.
"I'll say I'm tired. It was a long night. But everybody got home safe and he helped people out," Fine said.
Fine says he responded to calls in some of the hardest-hit areas.
"I would say the worst was definitely in Oak Ridge," he said.
Saturday, he spent the day rescuing cars that were abandoned like this one off Sagebrush Trail in Greensboro.
A change of pace after a busy Friday night.
Winter weather road tips: Staying safe while navigating the snow and ice
"Just about every road we turned on, you would have somebody flagging you down. It would be one car after another. You would help somebody out and then as soon as you get done, you would go back out here, there would be one or three cars sitting there," Fine said.
While the snow threat is gone, Fine says if you don't have to be on the road, simply stay indoors.
"I would say just be mindful. If you do have to go out then just give yourself time. Be very safe and slow. Be mindful of the vehicles in front of you. But if you don't have to go out, just stay at home," he said.
