New Orleans police officers honored at Texans game for heroic response during New Year's Day terrorist attack

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — During Saturday's AFC Wild Card game between the Houston Texans and the Los Angeles Chargers, three New Orleans Police Department officers who stopped the Bourbon Street terror suspect, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, on New Year's Day were honored.
Officers Jacobie Jordan and Joseph Rodrigue were both shot in the leg with Rodrigue also breaking his shoulder.
Sgt. Nigel Daggs and officers Christian Beyer and Jacobie Jordan were given custom jerseys from the Texans on the field.

The Texans posted on X, "Today we recognize three heroic New Orleans police officers who were among the first responders on the scene during the New Orleans tragedy on New Year’s Day."
NOPD Chief Anne Kirkpatrick spoke highly of the officers during a Friday press conference about their bravery.
"I wish to honor our national heroes and our New Orleans treasured officers. They are Sergeant Nigel Daggs. He is a 21-year veteran. Officer Christian Beyer and officer Jacobie Jordan are almost two-year veterans. Officer Beyer is one year and 11 months. Officer Jordan is also a one year and nine-month veteran. Officer Rodriguez is a nine-year veteran and eight months. So almost 10 years with our department," said Kirkpatrick.
