StormTracker 8: Icy in some spots this morning
Jan 12, 2025
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - It is another cold start today with some icy spots on the roads. Quiet conditions continue into our work week.
Overnight lows dropped well below freezing for all of us which means there could be some slick spots on the pavement and the roads. Please be careful if you are heading out early. We will see more melting today with highs climbing to near 40 under sunny skies.
Mostly sunny skies will be with us tomorrow and it will even be “balmy” compared to what we have seen. Highs tomorrow will be near the middle 40s under mostly sunny skies.
The chilly air returns Tuesday through Thursday with highs in the low to middle 30s. It will also be breezy which means single digit wind chills are possible especially Wednesday and Thursday morning. Although chilly, we will see plenty of sunshine.
It will be slightly warmer on Friday with highs near the middle 40s. Looking ahead to next weekend temperatures look to be near seasonable and another storm looks to move in. Right now, it looks like rain showers will be with us by Saturday morning and the system will move out by Saturday night.
