Owen Sillinger scored 1 minute, 37 seconds into overtime to lift the Monsters past Laval, 2-1, on Jan. 11 in front of 15,176 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Sillinger’s ninth goal of the season was assisted by Stanislav Svozil and Cole Clayton. Cleveland (21-11-1-3) avenged a 5-0 loss to Laval a night earlier and won its third game in its past four. Josh LaBate also scored for the Monsters on a power play in the first period, assisted by Samuel Knazko and Daemon Hunt. Daniil Tarasov saved 34 shots in the Monsters’ net while on loan from Columbus for conditioning. The Monsters are off until Jan. 17, when they play the first of two games at longtime rival Grand Rapids.
