Girls Basketball Bloomfield 71, East Rochester 15 Bloomfield scored the first 11 points of the game and outscored East Rochester 27-6 in the first quarter for a resounding victory in the final game of the Bomber Classic. The matchup was a rematch of last year's Class C1 sectional title game, which Bloomfield won 49-39. Bloomfield is now on a three-game winning streak against their rivals. Bloomfield (7-3) has won seven of their last eight games. They will host Waterloo on Wednesday, January 15th. East Rochester (5-5) had a three-game winning streak snapped. They will visit Red Creek on Monday, January 13th. Boys Basketball East Rochester 77, Bloomfield 43 Trailing 14-13 after the first quarter, East Rochester started the second quarter on a 15-0 run to take down their rivals in the opening game of the Bomber Classic. Elijah Tanner netted 9 of his game-high 23 points in the decisive second quarter. East Rochester led 35-22 at the half, then outscored Bloomfield 42-21 to secure the victory. The two teams started playing regularly in 2020 and the East Rochester boys have won all five matchups. Raydavion Allen and Jordan Nunn joined Tanner in double figures, scoring 19 and 14 points, respectively. Braedon Smith led Bloomfield with 13 points, while Ben Jones had 10. East Rochester moves to 8-1 on the season with the win. ER won their first seven games of the season before dropping a matchup to Lyons earlier in the week. ER will face another rival in their next matchup when they visit Gananda on Tuesday, January 14th. Bloomfield (3-7) will try and snap a four-game losing streak when they visit Honeoye on Friday, January 17th.
