KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police are investigating after a girl under the age of 18 was injured during a shooting at an Independence apartment complex early Saturday morning. According to the Independence Police Department, at about 2:25 a.m., officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 17000 block of 24 Highway on reports of a shooting. KCPD investigating deadly shooting on I-29, near NW 72nd Street Upon arrival, IPD said they found a "juvenile female" suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency responders took her to a hospital where she was reported to have non-life-threatening injuries. IPD said a man was taken into custody at the scene; however, this is an ongoing investigation.
