The program came to a pause following the COVID-19 pandemic closures in March 2020 but was reintroduced in January 2025.
Each tour is led by a Foster Botanical Garden volunteer who underwent six weeks of training to share the garden's knowledge, and will take you through "one of Honolulu's most storied and biodiverse botanical gardens."
Lanikai parking restrictions in place until mid-March
The best part -- each tour is always different.
"We are so thrilled to once again offer these tours to the public! Much like the changing landscape of the garden, and the diverse volunteers guiding these garden journeys, no two tours are alike. We encourage you to enjoy the tours whenever you stop by the garden, and experience Foster Botanical Garden from a variety of perspectives," Sand said.
Foster Botanical covers 14 acres in Honolulu's historic Chinatown District and is internationally renowned for its plant life collection.
The garden is also home to 21 "exceptional trees," including the Corpse Flower, which last bloomed last July.
Visitors can participate in the 90-minute tours every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday starting at 10:30 a.m.
