After a wintry Friday, we tapped into sunshine and enjoyed a beautiful Saturday! Salt treatments, sunshine, and temperatures climbing as high as the lower 30s allowed roads to quick improve throughout the day. The sunset was beautiful too! Look for clouds to increase as we progress into tonight. There may be a stray snow shower or two, but do not anticipate any travel concerns. Temperatures will drop into the lower 20s in the middle of the night before rising a bit as we approach daybreak Sunday. High temperatures will return up into the lower 30s on Sunday as a powerful arctic cold front approaches. Ahead of and along this front, we'll see a scattered wintry mix of precipitation during the afternoon and evening. Watch out for a mix of sleet, freezing rain, and snow to cause at least some slick spots on the roads. Make sure you take it slow and give yourself extra time if you have plans. We could pick up another coating of snow and light ice accumulations, so use extra caution. After midnight Sunday night, most of the precipitation tapers off as cold air rushes in. Temperatures fall all night long and we'll end up in the teens into our Monday. We'll see wind chills tumble into the single digits too, so you'll want to bundle up. Skies will be mostly cloudy during the day on Monday. We'll stay bitterly cold on Tuesday, with highs only in the mid-teens. When you factor in the wind, wind chills will struggle to stay above zero all day long. Brr! We'll stay cold in the teens at most on Wednesday before we warm up later in the week. Highs even look to return above freezing by Friday! Regarding our precipitation chances, some spotty snow could drift in on Tuesday and Thursday, then we have a slight chance for a rain/snow mix by Saturday. It will certainly be a week of ups-and-downs!
