Following the inch or two of snowfall we experienced this morning, we can look forward to gradual clearing as we enter Sunday. On Saturday, anticipate a mix of sun and clouds. Early morning road conditions were very hazardous, so keep an eye on any remaining slick, slushy spots. The warmer temperatures and winds will assist in drying out the roads, reducing the risk of refreezing overnight. However, prepare for dangerously cold wind chills late Saturday into Sunday morning, potentially dropping values into the single digits or below zero. Temperatures will begin a slight warming trend this week but will still be below seasonal averages. A dry front is expected to move through, bringing windy conditions and reinforcing the bitterly cold arctic air for midweek. By Thursday and Friday, temperatures should gradually rise back into the 30s. Climate patterns indicate we may shift to wetter conditions after this dry spell between snowstorms. There could be another opportunity for significant snowfall by the end of January or even February. Remember, stay alert and be prepared for the shifting weather ahead! Here’s the 7-day forecast: Saturday: Expect a mix of clouds and breezy conditions. High temperatures will reach the mid-30s, with wind gusts up to 30 mph. Wind chills will feel like they are in the 20s. Saturday Night: The sky will be partly cloudy, but dangerous wind chills are anticipated. Lows will drop into the teens and 20s, and wind chills could fall into the single digits or below zero. Sunday: The day will start chilly with a slight breeze. By daybreak, winds will calm down, and sunnier skies will help temperatures rise into the upper 30s. Monday: We can expect partly sunny skies, with highs reaching the 40s. Tuesday: A dry cold front will bring windy conditions, with highs in the upper 20s and lower 30s. Wednesday: Bitterly cold winds will dominate the day, with highs only in the mid to upper 20s. Thursday: Temperatures will rebound to the freezing point, accompanied by mostly sunny skies. Friday: The week will wrap up with partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid-30s. Make sure to bundle up before heading out! Meteorologist Derek Bowen
