MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A woman is facing an attempted murder charge after allegedly attempting to shoot her boyfriend but the gun jammed, Memphis Police said. On January 8 at E Raines and Neely Road, a male victim told officers that his girlfriend, Renell Hardin had allegedly pointed a gun to his face. Renell Hardin. (SCSO) He said that he was at Hardin's residence because she wanted to work on their relationship and for him to "come back home." At some point of their reunion, the victim said they began to argue about the light bill. Hardin then became upset and got her pistol out. The victim told officers that he and Hardin were outside when she allegedly fired a shot toward her neighbor's residence and another toward her neighbor. That second bullet struck his driver's side door. That's when the victim said Hardin turned around and allegedly pointed the gun at his face and pulled the trigger but the gun jammed. The victim said when Hardin bent over to re-rack the gun to unjam it, he was able to take it from her. Woman accused of stealing $65K in jewelry from Arlington home The victim said he got into his vehicle to leave Hardin's residence and she followed him. The victim said he wrecked his vehicle, ran from the scene and then called a friend to pick him up. According to the police report, the victim was not injured but claimed he feared for his life. Hardin has been charged with criminal attempted first-degree murder, employing a firearm during the commission/attempt to commit a dangerous felony and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon. Her bond information is unknown at this time.
