TBone Crash Injures Lincoln Police Officer And Driver

Lincoln Police Cruiser (Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Jan. 11) The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a T-bone crash late Friday night that sent a police officer and a 36-year-old Lincoln man to the hospital in northwest Lincoln. LPD LT Michelle Jochum told KFOR News a police cruiser was traveling south on N. 27th St approaching the intersection with ‘W’ Street when a red sedan stopped at the stop sign facing east on ‘W’ Street proceeded into the intersection, where the two vehicles collided. An off-duty LPD officer heard the crash as he was walking to his personal vehicle and then learned of the collision over the police radio.
He drove to the scene and found the officer involved immediately trying to render aid and extricate the other driver. He relieved the officer and began assisting the other driver. The driver was extricated from his vehicle by Lincoln Fire & Rescue and taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The involved officer was taken to the hospital to be evaluated for minor injuries.
