Portion of 56th Street To Temporarily Close Beginning January 11

(Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Jan. 11) Lincoln Transportation and Utilities this week announced that southbound 56th Street between Normal Boulevard and Van Dorn Street will close beginning Saturday, January 11, for Lincoln Electric System utility work. This work is scheduled to be completed by January 22. The recommended detour is Normal Boulevard to 48th Street to Van Dorn Street.
Northbound 17th Street between “A” and “B” streets will close beginning Monday, January 13, for water main replacement work. This work is scheduled to be completed by Tuesday, January 21. The recommended detour is South Street to 27th Street.
Travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route and exercise caution around this closure. LTU appreciates the public’s patience during these closures and reminds residents that project dates are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
