GRENORA, ND (KXNET) — Two people from Williston were injured in a Friday morning crash in which one truck rear-ended another. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, on January 10 at about 9:06 a.m., a 2020 Kenworth semi was driving north on Williams County Road 5 one mile south of Grenora, and slowed down to turn into a disposal site. As the truck began turning left, a 2015 Freightliner service truck also going north came up over the crest of a small hill and began to brake upon seeing the Kenworth semi. North Dakota gets $1.9 million to fix railroad crossings Because of the extremely icy road conditions, the Freightliner began sliding and hit the rear end of the trailer attached to the Kenworth. The NDHP says the driver of the Freightliner, a 27-year-old man, sustained suspected serious injuries and was transported to CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Williston. The Kenworth driver, a 58-year-old man, sustained minor injuries. A small section of Williams County Road 5 was shut down for about nine hours as the scene was cleared. The crash remains under investigation by the NDHP. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox. Subscribe Now Today's Top Stories SIGN UP NOW
