BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating after one person was killed and at least four others were injured in a crash on I-10 early Saturday morning. Police said a Hyundai was driving west in the left lane and an Acura was driving east in the westbound lane around 1:40 a.m. at 15645 West I-10. According to BRPD, the Acura hit the Hyundai head-on while traveling in the wrong direction. The driver of the Acura was wearing a seatbelt but was pronounced deceased at the scene. Three passengers in the Acura and the driver of the Hyundai were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. How the Acura entered the interstate is still unknown. Detectives are waiting to identify the male driver of the Acura. This is a developing story.
