CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A suspicious package that turned out to be a cardboard box prompted a bomb squad response at a Walmart in Clovis, the Clovis Police Department said.
Officers say they received a call regarding a suspicious packager in the parking lot of the Walmart at 323 W. Shaw Avenue in Clovis at around 6:45 p.m.
Police say they taped off the area of the parking lot surrounding the item, and the Clovis Bomb Squad was called out to investigate. Walmart was still open and no evacuations of any building were done at the time, but officers were asking people to stay out of the area.
The Clovis Police Department later confirmed the suspicious package was a cardboard box.
