(KRON) -- A Hazmat team responded to a possible fentanyl exposure in San Mateo on Friday, the San Mateo Police Department said.
SMPD responded to the area of 39th Avenue and El Camino Real for a person possibly under the influence of drugs. They arrived to find suspected fentanyl on the sidewalk.

"Out of an abundance of caution," the San Mateo Fire Department's Hazmat team arrived to mitigate the exposure.
The area has been deemed safe, and no members of the public were exposed or injured, police said.
The area of the exposure was near several local businesses, including AutoZone and Mancini's Sleepworld.
