AM snow fading, slick roads remain
Jan 11, 2025
A few snow showers are blowing off of Lake Michigan, adding to the snowfall amounts we saw through last night. They've also added a coating to some of the already harsh roadway conditions. If you desire to travel today, make sure to have some extra time in the works and take it slow.
Our best chances for lake effect snow showers will be through this morning, with smaller, yet still existent chances, this afternoon. Temperatures stay in the 20s all day, with highs in the higher range, not quite breaching 30° though. We'll have to wait until Sunday for that.
While skies are cloudy this morning, better chances for occasional pockets of sunshine will appear this afternoon under mostly cloudy skies overall.
Mid-20s and an occasional lake effect snow shower.Scattered snow showers continue, mainly through this morning.A few snow showers remain possible in the afternoon, mainly north of Fort Wayne.Upper 20s this afternoon with more occasional pockets of sunshine.Snowfall wraps up for all this evening before more slight chances for snow return overnight.
We are a bit warmer on Sunday with highs in the lower 30s. Our next chances for snow and even some freezing drizzle will be possible in the afternoon/evening hours on Sunday. Accumulation is expected to be light, which is certainly not what we experienced on Friday. With this snow comes a cold front, and bitter cold air lies behind it.
Snow showers return Sunday afternoon.More snow showers into Sunday night.
The bitter cold air pushes in through our Monday, causing temperatures to fall in the afternoon, when we usually see them rise. The arctic air will sit around through Wednesday night.
Wind chills on Tuesday, lasting through Wednesday morning, will be below zero all day. Bundle up and get that car started early! High temperatures both days are only into the teens.
Temperatures fall dramatically over the next three days.
Thursday morning sees more wind chills below zero, but we at least see high temperatures rise into the upper 20s, so while still cold, it is an improvement. This warming trend will continue through Saturday, where highs on both Friday and Saturday are in the mid-30s. Certainly a week of ups-and-downs!
