STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- A juvenile was taken to the hospital after a house fire broke out in Stafford County on Friday afternoon. At about 4:45 p.m., crews with the Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department (SCFR) responded to a two-story home in the 100 block of Whitsons Run. The fire was in a converted, attached garage and was under control within 15 minutes. A juvenile and several pets were home at the time. Arlington police: Substitute teacher arrested for sexual relationship with female student; additional victims sought The juvenile - who is in their early teens - was able to get out before SCFR units arrived and was taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. They were in stable condition as of Friday night. Luckily, the pets were safely evacuated and not hurt in the fire. No working smoke alarms seemed to activate at the time of the fire. The fire is being investigated by the Stafford County Fire Marshal's Office.
