ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) –Rochester Mayor Malik Evans announced his intention to seek re-election Friday. Mayor Evans says he and his city hall team will accelerate the momentum gained through accomplishments made since he was first elected as Rochester's 71st Mayor in January 2022. Evans notes he plans to continue his 'We Not Me' governing style to continue this progress. "While we have come a long way since 2021, our work is not done. I am looking forward to finishing the historic work we have started," Mayor Evans said. Evans was joined by his family as well several supporters at a news conference Friday, including Assembly Member Harry Bronson and Monroe County Executive Adam Bello. Mayor Evans intends to seek the Democratic nomination in the Monroe County primary election on June 24.
