SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A third person has been arrested and charged in connection with a homicide investigation in Lemon Grove, the San Diego County Sheriff's Office announced Friday. Valena Marie Gonzales, 45, of San Diego was arrested by authorities near Valley Road and Rio Drive on Thursday, SDSO said. She is the third suspect arrested in connection with the shooting of Darron Willie Singleton Jr., 23, in Lemon Grove last September. RELATED: Two people arrested in connection with Lemon Grove shooting On Sept. 18, 2024, around 10:55 p.m., deputies responded to reports of gunfire in the 2200 block of Dain Court. When they arrived to the scene, deputies found Singleton Jr. lying in the street with gunshot wounds to his torso. Despite lifesaving measures, Singleton Jr. died from his injuries, authorities said. Gonzales was booked into custody at Las Colinas Detention Facility on charges of aiding and abetting in his murder. On Tuesday, two other individuals were arrested in connection with the shooting, according to SDSO. Richard Charles Lee, 47, was arrested in the 3100 block of Macaulay Street in San Diego. Meanwhile, Reality Grayson, 44, of Temecula was arrested in the 3900 block of Knollridge Drive in Temecula. They were booked into custody at the San Diego Central Jail on charges related to the murder of Singleton Jr., authorities said.
