.................... (KTLA) - At least six deaths have been attributed to the Eaton Fire burning in the Pasadena area of Los Angeles County, according to the County Medical Examiner. The fire, which has burned 13,956 acres, is about 3% contained, officials said. During a 1 p.m. news conference, fire officials said 1,527 firefighting personnel were battling the blaze. A virtual community meeting was expected to take place at 4 p.m., hosted by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The event will be streamed online. The wildfire advanced on Mount Wilson Thursday afternoon but crews managed to keep the flames from damaging any of the critical broadcast infrastructure, officials said. Hundreds of thousands of people remain displaced by the Eaton Fire. Countywide, more than 1 million people have been placed under some form of evacuation warning or order. (Photo by Mario Tama/Getty Images) Meanwhile, California National Guard troops arrived overnight to assist with road closures as firefighters continue working to slow the spread of the massive fire. Residents who have been displaced have been granted permission to make a single trip up to their homes to collect important belongings. Video showed troops deployed in Altadena providing reinforcement so L.A. sheriff's deputies could be freed up to patrol neighborhoods and deter any possible looters. At least 20 people have already been arrested for looting inside evacuation zones during the recent outburst of wildfires. The blaze, which started Tuesday amid hurricane-force winds near Altadena Drive and Midwick Drive in the Altadena area, has damaged or destroyed thousands of structures, Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone said Thursday. The County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner on Friday released a list of 11 fatalities under investigation, six of which occurred as a result of the Eaton Fire. (California.Gov) Evacuation orders (red) and warnings (yellow), which are still in place for much of Altadena, Pasadena and the surrounding communities, can be viewed on the map above. An interactive map is available on the California.gov website. Authorities are working diligently to get residents back into their homes as soon as possible but are asking for patience. “It’s extremely dangerous. There’s still structural damage. There are open gas lines. There are downed power lines. We don’t want someone to expose themselves to these elements and we don’t want them to create an additional hazard to the first responders,” Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Meza said. The following school districts previously announced they would remain closed Friday due to the Eaton Fire. Glendale Unified School District  La Canada Unified Pasadena Unified School District Several other school districts were closed on Thursday and could be shuttered Friday as well. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
