WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - Winter weather meant busy days for some businesses. One local manager says people are curing their cabin fever by getting out of their homes and looking for ways to warm up. "Especially when it's cold outside and it's too cold for the kids to play, they can come in here and wear themselves out," said General Manager Funcity Adventure Park Kristen Sampson. Businesses like Funcity Adventure Park are making the most out of the winter weather. "We were basically packed almost every day like it would get. It would get a little hectic, though," said Sampson. A calmer crowd but still packed at the Wichita Public Library. "It was a great place to just come in, stay warm," said Communications Specialist David Garcia. After days of being stuck inside, Garcia says it's good to get out of the house. "We see an influx after school, kids kind of just needing a third place to be if they aren't involved in sports or any other activities." Regardless of the weather Garcia says the libraries are always a free and safe space for everyone. "Typically, when we have extreme cold or hot, there's people that just kind of want to be inside, be, you know, regular temperature, whether, you know, they're trying to beat the heat or stay warm," said Garcia. We offer that up with our lovely facilities." Welcoming people in and capitalizing on a cold situation. "It's to have something to do where they can be active, but they're not outside," said Sampson.
