NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The big game is right around the corner, and all hands are on deck as the city of New Orleans makes the final preparations following the terrorist attack on Bourbon Street. "We continue to work along side our local, state and federal partners to ensure the safety for our residents and visitors during large scale events. The visitors and residents of this city deserve nothing less from all of their public safety departments," NOHSEP Director Collin Arnold said. "With absolutely all the law enforcement you are going to see out there for the Super Bowl, you're going to think you're in a sea of blue," Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick said. Along with the local help, the NOPD will have extra assistance from federal agencies due to the special event assessment rating 1 designation. Every officer on duty is expected to be in constant communication throughout the night. While hundreds of law enforcement officers are expected to be present, city leaders still ask for residents to do their part in keeping the city safe. "We invite residents and visitors to enjoy the festivities, but urge people to stay aware of their surroundings and take care in large crowds. You're going to hear this a lot, but if you see something, say something," Arnold said.
