Growing up in the Upstate of South Carolina, I grew to dread the snow! We lived in the country and it seems like every time it snowed, we lost power. We didn’t have many neighbor friends to sled with or build snowmen…but we did have SNOW CREAM! It’s a fond memory I have of snow days! It’s a snow day tradition that I’ve carried on with my own children. You’ll also be glad to know that I’ve come to love the snow! Luckily, for the most part I don’t lose power and can enjoy cuddling up by the fire, drinking hot cocoa, reading books and of course, playing outside a bit too!  Here’s our Chocolate Snow Cream recipe if you’d like to try the next time you have a fresh fallen snow! Ingredients 1 cup milk 1/3 cup granulated white sugar 1 pinch sea salt 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 TBSP unsweetened cocoa powder  8 cups of clean snow Optional toppings: sprinkles, chocolate chips, cookies, candies, fruit, nuts Directions In a large bowl, whisk milk, sugar, vanilla, unsweetened cocoa powder and salt together until combined. Scoop fresh, clean snow and immediately stir into the milk mixture until you reach your desired consistency. (Should be fluffy) Add desired toppings and enjoy!  The post Chocolate Snow Cream appeared first on The Nashville Mom.
