Winter storm passes through the MidSouth
Jan 10, 2025
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Another winter storm is in the books!
Several inches of snow fell across a good chunk of the Mid-South late Thursday night through Friday morning.
The 5-7″+ swath we had been predicting throughout the week along the I-40 corridor panned out very nicely.
SCSO: Roads could re-freeze overnight
The further north or south you went, the totals began to taper off slightly as expected.
Below are several snow totals that have been observed:
Helena-West Helena 8.3″
Lakeland 7.8″
Memphis Int’l 7.5″
Germantown 6.5″
Olive Branch 7.1″
Hernando 6.0″
West Memphis 6.0″
Bartlett 6.7″
Downtown Memphis 6.8″
Dyersburg 4.0″
Oxford 3.8″
Oakland 5.9″
Senatobia 6.0″
Coldwater 4.0″
Byhalia 5.5″
Ashland 4.0″
Corinth 3.3″
The issue through the weekend will be gradual melting during the day that then refreezes at night creating slick spots, especially on untreated roads.
Travel will be hazardous for at least the next couple of mornings.

Friday night lows will be in the high teens/lower 20s before rebounding into the lower to mid-30s Saturday afternoon with some sunshine.
We’ll be even a bit warmer on Sunday afternoon.
