Nearly half of all CLT flights cancelled due to winter storm

CHARLOTTE, NC — The winter storm is impacting travel at Charlotte-Douglas airport on Friday.
According to FlightAware, 729 flights were cancelled and 161 flights were delayed at CLT as of 7:30PM.
43% of all flights at Charlotte-Douglas have been cancelled.
American Airlines had the most cancellations with 364.
American Airlines sent this statement to WCCB Charlotte:
“American Airlines has significantly reduced its schedule at Charlotte Douglas Airport (CLT) today due to winter weather conditions that are expected to make it difficult for airlines to safely operate.
