A third suspect was jailed this week in connection with a fatal shooting last summer in Lemon Grove, authorities said Friday. Members of a fugitive task force arrested 45-year-old Valena Marie Gonzales of San Diego on Thursday for allegedly aiding and abetting in the slaying of Darron Singleton Jr., 23, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responding to reports of gunfire about 11 p.m. on Sept. 18 found Singleton lying in the road on Dain Court suffering from gunshot wounds to his torso, sheriff’s Lt. Michael Krugh said. Singleton, who lived in Lemon Grove, died at the scene.
