Power restored after thousands of customers lose power in Arlington in cold

ARLINGTON COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- Dominion Energy said crews restored power to thousands of customers in Arlington County Friday afternoon within hours of it going out.
According to Dominion Energy's outage map, 6,599 customers were without service in the Crystal City and Pentagon City areas shortly before 2 p.m..

Dominion Energy told DC News Now that crews were trying to restore power as they worked to determine what caused the electricty to go out. It said the outages may have been caused by a transmission line issue.
Aisha Khan, Media/Community Relations Manager for Dominion Energy in Northern Virginia, said power was back on to all the customers shortly after 3 p.m.
