MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Officials said within the first 10 days of 2025, crews have responded to over 115 water main breaks in Prince George's and Montgomery counties. WSSC Water, which provides water services to the affected areas, said in a social media post that 38 of those breaks happened on Jan. 9 alone. Water main breaks in Bethesda during heavy snow conditions "We appreciate your patience as crews move as quickly as possible from one repair to the next," WSSC Water stated. Officials said neighbors can sign up to be alerted when WSSC Water-related work is in their area. Once signed up, you can receive email and text alerts about water main breaks, sanitary sewer overflows, road closures, boil water advisories and more. If you see a water main break in your neighborhood, you can report it by calling (301) 206-4002 or emailing [email protected].
