Weather Forecast: Temps going up, snow coming down
Jan 10, 2025
ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) - Look, temperatures are still below freezing right now. But our Friday has felt SO much warmer. Temperatures well into the 20s and a lack of biting wind have largely negated a conversation about wind chill. While this relative warmth is a reality, so to is the light snow on the way overnight.
Just so we're all on the same page, there is more snow on the ground in parts of Mississippi, Alabama & Georgia right now than Rochester, New York. Weather is weird. pic.twitter.com/qJyiginxXo— Eric Snitil (@EricSnitilWx) January 10, 2025
This is the northern stream energy attached to the southern stream that brought significant snow to parts of the Deep South today. The word "significant" won't qualify here. We'll see about an inch or so of light snow overnight and into Saturday with Saturday highs jumping into the lower 30s. We'll do that again Sunday with very little flakes in the air at all. Our Bills game looks great with quiet weather and temperatures around freezing at Orchard Park. Not bad for mid January.
We'll have one final mind day Monday before a fresh shot or arctic air returns, set to drop us back into the freezing for the rest of next week.
