MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The man who was found dead and on fire Thursday morning in Madera County was identified by the Madera County Sheriff's Office on Friday. Officials say 52-year-old Ronald Alan Brooks II was the man who was found dead on Children's Boulevard. Deputies say they received a call reporting that a woman had set her husband on fire. ‘It wasn’t a random act of violence,’ says Sheriff after dead man found burning in Madera County The Madera County Sheriff's Office also confirmed on Friday to YourCentralValley.com that 52-year-old Ronald Alan Brooks II was married to the suspect, 56-year-old Jessie Equilla Brooks. Jessie Equilla Brooks was arrested and booked into the Madera County Jail on suspicion of homicide charges, according to deputies. She was due to be arraigned in Madera County Superior Court on Friday but officials say she refused to appear in court. Investigators have not yet released a motive for what could have led 56-year-old Jessie Equilla Brooks to allegedly burn and kill her husband. Madera County Sheriff Tyson Pogue described the incident as "isolated" and not a random act of violence.
