ATWATER, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The former owner of Better Blinds in Atwater has been charged with 19 counts of fraud that spanned over several months, the Merced County District Attorney’s Office announced on Friday. The District Attorney says they have filed charges against Donald Hyler, the former owner of Better Blinds in Atwater. The allegations involve several victims who were customers of the business, including a school district and a medical office. “Fraud is a very serious crime that affects so many people,” said Merced County District Attorney Nicole Silveira. “It will not be tolerated in our community. The District Attorney’s Office will do everything in our power to see that justice is served.” Reviews on Yelp describe Better Blinds in Atwater as not responding to customer issues and providing false promises. Donald Hyler is scheduled to be arraigned on Jan. 21.
