FALLBROOK, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — Cal Fire crews and local fire agencies made quick work extinguishing a small brush fire that destroyed one home Friday morning in Fallbrook.
The fire — referred to as the Mission Fire — was first reported just after 10 a.m. in the area of Overland Trail and Mission Road.
As of 10:30 a.m., the fire had burned through three acres and destroyed one residential outbuilding, sending plumes of black smoke overhead. According to Cal Fire, forward progress has been stopped.

No evacuations were called for nearby areas and a cause has yet to be determined.
Nonetheless, the fire sparked during a time of high alert for residents of Fallbrook, and other neighborhoods in the region's backcountry who are under a Red Flag Warning for critical fire danger due to strong winds and low relative humidity.
The warning was extended by the National Weather Service from its earlier expiration mid-week to Friday at 6 p.m. After restoring electricity Thursday, San Diego Gas & Electric again shut off power to thousands of customers Friday morning out of an abundance of caution.
Between the shutoffs, some wind-prone parts of the county saw peak wind gusts reach speeds of up to 79 miles per hour. Rancho Heights, located on the other side of the Interstate 15 from Fallbrook, recorded a peak wind gust speed of 43 miles per hour Thursday night, per NWS.
