WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A Wichita man will spend the rest of his life in prison for a man's murder in 2020. One person was shot in the head at a home on South Main in Wichita on Dec. 2, 2020. (KSN News) The Wichita Police Department said Christopher English killed Michael Horn, 49, on Dec. 2, 2020. The shooting happened at a home in the 800 block of South Main Street around 4:30 a.m. According to court documents, surveillance cameras showed someone in a truck driving down Main Street and shooting at the home. Horn was hit in the back of the head. Officers observed approximately 10 bullet strikes to the house. Witnesses told police that English was shooting at the house because a friend who used to live there had been kicked out. Kansas will no longer take money from foster children, governor says English was arrested in May 2021 and charged in July 2022. Last month, a Sedgwick County Jury found English guilty of first-degree murder, criminal discharge of a firearm, and criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. On Friday, Judge Dave Dahl sentenced 44-year-old English to 842 months (70.1 years) in prison. English's attorney filed a notice that he plans to appeal.
