Green Gold Group opens cannabis dispensary in Palmer

PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) - A Charlton-based recreational marijuana dispensary has opened another location in Palmer.
Green Gold Group held its grand opening celebration on Friday with a food truck, goodie bags, vendors, and more. They are open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 1140 Thorndike Street in Palmer.
Massachusetts looks to license social cannabis consumption
The Cannabis Control Commission is crafting rules and regulations for the consumption of marijuana in public spaces. State officials plan to complete the process by the middle of this year.
Recreational cannabis became legal for adults to grow and possess in Massachusetts on December 15, 2016. Nearly two years later, the first two stores opened on November 20, 2018, in Northampton and Leicester. According to the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission, gross sales totaled $7.15 billion since retailers opened.
