(WPRI) — Nearly 500,000 power banks are being recalled because the battery can overheat and ignite, posing a burn and fire risk, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The Charamast power banks were sold on Amazon.com in a variety of colors, including black, blue, green, mint, pink and white. The recall specifically involves model W1056, which can be found printed on the back of the power bank. Charamast has received 44 reports of the power banks expanding, igniting, melting, overheating or smoking, four of which resulted in burns or blisters. Anyone who purchased one of the recalled power banks is urged to stop using it and to instead contact Charamast for instructions on how to receive a full refund.
