Franklin Institute chief astronomer Derrick Pitts shares tips on how to observe the so-called "parade of planets" taking place in January and into February. At least four planets — Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn — will be bright and visible in the night sky and will appear in an apparent alignment above the horizon. Neptune and Uranus will be too dim to see without a telescope, but Mercury may be viewable in late January.
