Around 10 a.m. that day, troopers reported responding to the crash scene where they learned that 24-year-old Kyren Lacy was headed south on the highway in a Dodge Charger "driving recklessly passed multiple vehicles at a high rate of speed."
An investigation revealed Lacey allegedly crossed the center lane into the northbound lane in a designated no-passing zone where a pickup truck was headed north.
Troopers said the truck abruptly braked and swerved to avoid a head-on collision with Lacey but crossed the center colliding head-on with a Kia Sorento.
Further investigation revealed Lacy allegedly drove around the crash and fled south on Highway 20 without stopping to render aid, calling emergency services, or reporting his involvement.

Lacy is a known Thibodaux native and a former LSU wide receiver.
Lacy is wanted on charges of negligent homicide, felony hit and run, and reckless operation of a vehicle. Troopers said they are in contact with Lacy to turn himself in.
